Javier Garrido - Game Developer Profile Photo

Hi! I'm Javi

Hi! I'm Javier Garrido Galdón (@nodlag), a game developer from Valencia, Spain, passionate about crafting memorable experiences through smooth controls, satisfying feedback, and all those little details that make a game feel just right. I specialize in Unity and Godot, and I love bringing ideas to life with a strong focus on game feel and polish. Whether it's making a jump feel snappy or fine-tuning a particle effect, I'm all about those finishing touches that players remember - even if they don't realize why.

I handled the Xbox version of the game, taking care of all the technical integration and platform-specific details to make it run smoothly within the Microsoft ecosystem, with the support of the original Panik Arcade team and Future Friends Games.

I was responsible for porting the Steam version of the game to Nintendo Switch, working closely with the original development team to technically adapt the project and tweak several mechanics to fit the specific requirements of the Nintendo Switch platform. I was also responsible for the updated PlayStation 5 version and for bringing the game to its physical PS5 release published by Super Rare Games.

Roll the dice and choose how you will die. Die or Die is a top-down shooter roguelite where you run, shoot and dodge enemies to get dice with which to disable threats or unlock abilities. Roll. Die. Repeat.

I led the creation of the initial prototype and collaborated during production to refine the game feel and ensure the project met its technical goals.

Cannibal Crossing

I was involved in the original development of the game, playing a hands-on role in core areas like design, programming, feel, and VFX, helping shape the game's identity from the ground up.

Some Earlier Work

I've been making games professionally since 2011, working on more than 20 titles and collaborating with major publishers like Chillingo (Electronic Arts), Noodlecake, and Re-Logic (Terraria). Over the years, I've had the chance to contribute to some amazing projects, and a couple of them were even recognized by Apple as "Game of the Week"-twice! It's been a wild and rewarding journey, and I'm always looking forward to the next creative challenge.
